Integrity expectations
NMMAF expects honest submissions, responsible conduct, respect for federation and event rules, and fair participation across all public, membership, and competition pathways.
Integrity is not limited to competition results. It also includes safeguarding, eligibility, anti-doping responsibility, reporting accuracy, professional behaviour, and respect for athlete welfare.
Safeguarding
Safeguarding means taking practical steps to ensure that children, young people, and adults involved in MMA are safe from harm. It is a shared responsibility across the federation, coaches, officials, clubs, volunteers, and event personnel.
NMMAF expects safeguarding to remain central to federation activity, with a focus on safe environments, appropriate conduct, prompt reporting of concerns, and processes that reflect recognised good practice.
Reporting and investigations
The public reporting route is intended for concerns such as safeguarding issues, misconduct, anti-doping concerns, eligibility concerns, and event-related issues. Reports may be submitted by named or anonymous reporters and are reviewed privately within the federation compliance workflow.
Submitting a report does not automatically mean a breach has been confirmed. NMMAF may review available information, request clarification, restrict access to sensitive material, and take action only where appropriate under federation rules and procedures.
Education and shared responsibility
A credible integrity system depends on education as well as enforcement. NMMAF expects athletes, coaches, referees, officials, clubs, volunteers, and stakeholders to understand the standards that apply to their role and to support a safe, fair, and well-governed MMA environment.
Public integrity pages, official documents, and future education material are intended to support awareness, consistency, and better decision-making across the national federation pathway.
